An Orthotist provides treatment for patients who require bracing because of a muscle/bone impairment, disease or deformity. Our goal is to restore mobility, prevent further deformity of joints and to limit disability. Each orthosis is custom designed and fabricated with these goals in mind. Examples of orthoses include knee braces, ankle foot orthoses, upper extremity braces, spinal braces and foot orthotics.
Our scope of care involves patient assessments, fittings and long-term follow-up care. We also provide full on-site device manufacturing and maintenance. We work closely with other healthcare professionals such as physicians, physiotherapists and orthopaedic surgeons to ensure client-centred care is overseen in a multidisciplinary setting.
We use a vast array of materials, components and specifically engineered technologies to meet the needs and goals of our patients. In the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics, technologies are rapidly advancing and we work hard to match available technologies with patient needs and goals.
Whether your orthotic requirements are the result of injury, disease or congenital problems, a Certified Orthotist is the professional most prepared to determine the clinical needs and design the appropriate orthotic treatment.
